Stakeholder Engagement & Management

.

In many quarters it is the lack of effective COMMUNICATION with the project STAKEHOLDERS that results in the failure of projects.

It is imperative that the Stakeholders within a project are identified as early as possible and a Communication Plan devised to keep them informed.

The Project Sponsor is a key Stakeholder but often this person has little or no knowledge of the project or project principles or their role and responsibilities.
What or Who are the Project Stakeholders?

There are many definitions of who a Project Stakeholder might be.

One of the best is:

An individual, group, or organisation who may affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision, activity, or outcome of a project’ (PMI – 2013 A guide to the project management Body of Knowledge – 5th edition)
